The [C] maps are indeed custom, but there's no easy way to load new maps in without creating a modded fork on github and adding them there, or joining the discord (https://discord.gg/dgKVaUKpj5) and submitting a design, usually created in Tiled
There's talks about allowing a custom way to play maps, but no work has been started on it yet.
I made an account just to tell you how amazing this game is! Its extremely high quality and repetitive with friends. Brought me back to my DS days! Only thing it needs now is more mini games rather than just fighting for stars. This is fun, but it would be even better with another mini game. I hope this is not doomed to be taken down by Nintendo, because this is just amazing work! Best game I have ever seen on itch.io so far. You devs rock!

Haven't played NSMB DS in like a decade and playing this with friends was way more fun than I remember! it's a lot more polished than I expected as well, fantastic recreation and definitely worth playing!
If you want to contribute, just join the discord server and ask how you can help out! the entire project is open source, I have no problems with anyone helping out!
God i love playing this, it rebembe me whean i used to play a lot, i like very much the news maps and i was suprise that was implemented the propeler suit. I really like what i play, i hope that soon, return the options of live, and see what new you implement in this game. Defenitly when i can, i will donate some dolars.
Could you please make a local coop mode with splitscreen. So I can play with my friends directly on one screen? Up to 4 players would then be good. I appreciate your work very much. But this is the only thing that I would want to be added. Again thank you!!! Its very good! But please do iiiiiittttttt! :)
Local co-op currently isn't easily implementable. I'll put it on the list, but it might not be added for a while. I've just built a WebGL version though, it should make it easier to play with more people since they can do it right in browser!
Pretty good re-creation, I played it with a rando online and the experience was good though sometimes my inputs would be misread (like I'd go right when pressing left)

I don't know if it's just me, but I am unable to activate fullscreen. Is anyone else having the same problem?
Fullscreen has been disabled on the web version for now due to some issues, you'll have to download the game to play in fullscreen properly.

can you develop a version for iOS, maybe with a dpad, and buttons?
They've mentioned on the discord that they will most likely not make a mobile version
although it appears that someone may be working on a mobile version, not sure when or if it will be released though
Even if they do make an IOS version. You will have to jailbreak it. And their is an Android version now, bits it's outdated
